National Association of Professional College Advisors

A Non-Profit Organization Helping College Planners Help Clients

NAPCA Home

The National Association of Professional College Advisors (NAPCA) was established in 2007 to serve as an educational resource on college funding issues, including selection and admission strategies. Our mission is to make college an affordable reality for students and their families.

NAPCA conducts free college planning and information nights around the country. These workshops are designed to help students and parents understand the college selection, admissions, and college funding process including the financial aid system. Any high school student, their parents, school administrators, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend these free informational presentations.

Our goal is to help local communities become more informed of the many strategies that will help to reduce the cost of college, help them properly save for college, and assist them with closing the college affordability gap. Towards this goal, we have implemented many programs that directly contribute to the overall awareness of both the student and their families. We provide public education through workshops, seminars, website resources, and college planning consultations. Our focus on helping students with admissions and selection issues has proven to be a critical step in saving money for families because the students stay more focused in college and are more likely to stay at one school. This reduces attrition and facilitates students graduating in a timely manner, thus alleviating time and money wasted transferring schools and losing valuable credits or dropping out altogether. NAPCA empowers the family with the ability to save as much in college costs as possible by enabling the student to thrive in their chosen collegiate environment.

One of the crucial ingredients to making college an affordable reality is to ensure that the associated costs are kept as low as possible. This is accomplished by utilizing the expertise of many disciplines in implementing a variety of processes including personality and career interest assessment tests, producing a selection and admissions gameplan, and evaluating funding options. NAPCA is national in scope, but we are local in our focus. This is why it is our practice to coordinate with local professionals of high standards that are experienced in college admissions, selection, and funding issues. These professions include Admissions Counselors, School Counselors, School Administrators, CPA’s, Financial Professionals, etc. We think nationally, but act locally.
